- ### [[Comments]]
	- The paper discusses the application of model-driven engineering (MDE) in developing and operating digital twins. The authors introduce the foundational concepts of modeling in the context of digital twins and make a case for integrating MDE techniques to improve the management of digital twins' lifecycles in dynamic environments. As explicitly mentioned by the authors, the paper represents the result of the discussions they had during the Dagstuhl Seminar 22362, "ModelDriven Engineering of Digital Twins".
	- Overall, the paper is well-written and well-structured. It provides insightful views on how to put MDE and Digital Twin development and management in synergy. However, the manuscript could be enhanced by fixing the following minor issues:
		- The CoSMoS approach's introduction on page 6 feels sudden. Offering a deeper background on its relevance and principles would facilitate a smoother incorporation of this concept into the paper's narrative.
		- The discussion on design models and their generative aspects on page 7 would benefit from further detail. A more thorough explanation or inclusion of a case study could greatly aid in demonstrating how these models are practically applied within the digital twin framework.
		- In Section 5, the authors mention several challenges related to digital twins. These challenges are crucial for understanding the complexities of digital twin development and operation. I suggest explicitly listing them in Section 3 before delving into the research roadmap presented in Section 5. The authors should also devise a Table in Section 5 consisting of three main columns to link the identified challenges with the corresponding MDE-based solutions and the consequent research efforts needed.
